Mr. Willie Jessie Hall was born in Luverne, Alabama, on October 22, 1927, to the parentage of Marzella and Jessie Hall. He joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Luverne at an early age. He delighted in talking about his early years in Alabama, where he was a Head Butler at a large estate. After he relocated to New York, he became employed by DuArt Film Studios in Manhattan, New York, and he worked there until retirement. He attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.
His parents preceded him in death, his first wife, Ola Mae Hall, son-Willie Lee Hall. His brothers-Willie (Big Willie) Hall, Robert Hall, Lawyer Hall, and Genie Hall. Sisters-Essie Mae Harris, Jesse Mae Dorsey, and Aileen Caldwell. On November 23, 1968, he wed Annie Pearl Jenkins, also deceased.
Mr. Hall is survived by: Two sisters-in-law, Helen Todd (David) of Mt. Vernon, GA, and Elizabeth Hall of the Bronx, N.Y.; Four children; Donald (Erma) Jenkins, Velma Dawson, James (Mary) Jenkins, and Michael Jenkins, all of Swainsboro, GA. Daughter-in-law, Claudell Hall of Ridgeville, SC. Eight grandchildren; Dorna Taylor, Esq. of Fayetteville, GA; Christopher Hall of Summerville, SC; Donald K Jenkins,II (Tye) of Mableton, GA; Robert Jenkins (Lacy) of Swainsboro, GA; Tamika Seay (Tony) of Lakeland, FL; James Craig Jenkins (Nahkeva) of Lakeland, FL; Charlene Monique Jenkins of Winston-Salem, NC; and Alex Wells of Swainsboro, GA.
