Willie T. Royal better known as "Doug", was born in Swainsboro, Georgia, on September 9, 1943, to the late Dock Royal and Lena Hannah Royal.
Willie attended public schools in Emanuel County for his formal education. After graduating, he moved to New Jersey, and began working as a Food Service Worker, for Greystone Psychiatric Hospital.
At age of 19, Willie developed a passion for golf. He won numerous of golf tournaments, and received many trophies. Willie frequently stated that he had circumstances been different, he would have been the first Tiger Woods. In additional to golf, he loved fast cars and music. Willie's preferred automobile was a Pontiac GTO.
Willie entered into eternal rest, on October 31, 2022, at the age of 79.He was preceded in death by his father, Dock Royal, his mother, Lena Hannah Royal; two brothers, June Royal and Harvis Brantley, two sisters; Sarah Royal Johnson, and Betty Royal Calloway.
Willie is survived by four brothers; Thomas (Julia) Crawford of Rex, Georgia, Prince (Stephanie) Brantley of Snellville, Georgia, Kelvin (Fiona) Brantley of Pooler, Georgia, and Roy (Brenda) Brantley of Swainsboro, Georgia. One sister-in-law; Edna Brantleyof Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
