Obituary
Sharon Y. Phillips, 61, entered into eternal peace on Monday, December 25, 2023 at Wellstar MCG Health formerly August University, Augusta, GA.
Sharon was born on September 7, 1962, the daughter of the late H.S. Phillips Jr. and the late Mattie Mae (McCloud) Phillips. She retired from Savannah River Plant after 34 years of service. She was a 1980 graduate of Emanuel County Institute and 1981 graduate of Swainsboro Technical College. Sharon was a faithful member of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, where she served with admirable service in the Mission and as lead singer and treasurer in JB’s Gospel Singers. She also served as a lead singer in the Evening Stars for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Wanda A. Phillips.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Karen K. Phillips, Hephzibah, GA; one devoted nephew Shaun D. (Banita) Phillips, Colorado Springs, CO; a loving aunt, Rose L. (John) Davis, Akron, OH; two loving uncles, Leroy (Sylvia) Phillips, Stillmore, GA and Elliot Dave McCloud, Macon, GA; spiritual sisters, Eleanor Williams - Taylor, Macon, GA, Jeanette Mincey, Swainsboro, GA and Johnnie Mae (Willie) Gordon, Stillmore, GA; and spiritual brother, Vincent Brantley of Swainsboro, GA.
