SP4 Henry Lewis

Mr. Henry Lewis was born on April 2, 1944, in Emanuel County, Georgia, to the late Safford Lewis, Sr. and Florie Parrish Lewis.

He attended the public schools of Emanuel County and, at an early age, joined Rountree Chapel Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Trustee until his passing.

Henry served his country honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during his military service. After completing his service, he worked as a Certified Welder in Washington, D.C., until his retirement. Following retirement, he returned to Twin City, Georgia, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Henry Lewis departed this life peacefully at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Safford Lewis, Sr. and Florie Parrish Lewis; his brothers, Elbert Parrish and Leon Parrish, Sr.; and his sisters, Annie Laura Collier and Emma Joyce Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his sisters, Ella Tyson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Leila Pearl Warren of Waldorf, Maryland; his brothers, Larry Lewis (Margaret) of Capitol Heights, Maryland, and Safford Lewis (Janice) of Atlanta, Georgia; his aunts, Henrietta Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Classie Parrish of Swainsboro, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Henry will be remembered for his faithful service to his church, his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the kindness he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
