Mrs Rosa Lee Hearst was born June 11, 1941 in Wilkinson County, GA and fell asleep in death on May 8, 2025. As an adult Rosa relocated to Paterson, NJ where she worked as a Healthcare provider at the North Jersey Training School for a number of years before moving back to Macon GA.
Rosa was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses June 1, 1992 and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses, Joycliff Congregation in Macon, GA, and for many years she zealously shared with all her friends and neighbors, her strong faith in Jehovah God, his son Jesus Christ and the Kingdom blessings that are soon to come. Due to health issues she moved to Swainsboro GA in October 2023 to be near her brother Nathaniel, where for a short time she was a member of the Swainsboro Ga Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents John Gee and Ruby L Gallimore Hughes, four brothers Joseph Hughes, Christopher Columbus Hughes, Lee Turner Hughes and Robert Louis Hughes all of Macon GA. Four sisters Florine Hughes, Mae Ola Washington, Frances Dennis and Barbara Bolds all ofMacon GA, also 4 nephews and two nieces.
Rosa is survived by one brother Nathaniel (Annise) Hughes of Swainsboro, GA., devoted niece Marquita Harvell, special nephew Daren “D” Curry and special niece De’Aja Washington who she affectionately called “Miss D”. One brother-in-law Willie Dennis of Macon, GA. Three sisters-in-law Dorothy Hughes of Fort Wayne Indiana, Annis Mae Hughes and Sheila Hughes both of Macon GA, 6 nieces, 16 nephews, 51 grand nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
Rose was a very soft spoken and warmhearted person. She was kind, gentle ans very generous. She will be greatly missed by her large family, and spiritual family, many cousins, many friends, and all the Healthcare providers at the Emanuel County Nursing Home, where she resided the past two years.
