Mr. Robert Underwood was born in Jenkins County Georgia on June 4th, 1950, to the late Charlie Underwood Sr and Pearlie Mae Randall Underwood. He was called to eternal rest August 4th, 2024. Robert attended public schools in Burke County Ga. At an early age he received Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined the Roberson Grove Baptist Church of Midville Georgia. For an extended period of time, he was the church’s only deacon where he lovingly served GOD and his people.
He moved to Augusta Georgia as a teenager and worked at Plant Vogle as a skilled laborer for several years. Robert had many talents such as carpentry, brick masonry, and plumbing. After living in Augusta many years, he moved back to his hometown of Midville where he was a man of many skilled trades. Robert was an all-around handyman in the community and loved fishing in his spare time.
Robert is preceded in death by the love of his life, Evelyn Scott, and his parents Charlie and Pearlie Mae Underwood. Three brothers Winslow Gaines, Henry Underwood, and Richard Underwood. He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his two daughters Topeka (Steven) Ham of Timmonsville SC and Azure Scott of Augusta GA, three sons Robert Scott of Augusta Georgia, Corey(Krystal) Underwood Scott of North Augusta SC, Eric(Antoinette) Burney of Augusta Georgia. Two brothers, Charlie Jr(Cynthia) Underwood of Hephzibah Georgia, George(Dierdre) Underwood of Waynesboro Ga, Five sisters Yvonne(Larry) Lott of Swainsboro Georgia, Mamie(Otis) Davis of Midville Ga, Nadene(Ronnie Sanders) of Sylvania Georgia, Martha Jackson of Wadley Jackson, Pearlie Mae Dukes of Waynesboro Ga. Seven grandchildren, Robert Scott Jr, Kylie Scott, Taylor Ham, Kaycee and Karter Scott, Malachi and Roshad Burney. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
