Mr. Richard “Bruh” "Flippa" Brinson Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on December 14, 1967, in Emanuel County, Georgia, to the late Irene Brinson and the late Richard “Tillie” Brinson Sr. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Bruh answered the Master’s call and was peacefully called home.
Richard was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft as a brick mason. He took great pride in his work, leaving behind a legacy of skill, perseverance, and reliability. To those who knew him best, Bruh was genuine, loving, and deeply devoted to his family and those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Brinson and Richard “Tillie” Brinson Sr.; his brother, Richard Cross; and his sisters, Latrisha Parish and Tracie Cross.
Those left to cherish his precious memories include his loving brother, Joe Cross of Swainsboro, Georgia; his three devoted sisters, Essie Brinson, Martha Brinson, and Mary Wadley, all of Swainsboro, Georgia; his favorite aunt, Mrs. “Uncle” Mildred Johnson, and her husband, Pudge, of Swainsboro, Georgia; the woman he lovingly called his wife, Gladys, of Swainsboro, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Richard shared a special bond with his niece, Irenette Brinson Anthony, and her husband, Donnell, of Statesboro, Georgia, as well as his beloved twin nephew, Maurice Pullens, who held a special place in his heart.
Bruh will be remembered for his quiet strength, loving spirit, and the deep connections he formed with those around him. Though he has been called home, his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
