Minister Herbert transitioned Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born to Jacqueline Worthen and the late Elder Eddie Worthen on September 26, 1965.
Minister Herbert was a graduate of Swainsboro High School, class of 1984. He enlisted in the Navy, where he served and retired after 20 years. He was a graduate of the University of Phoenix where he received an Associates of Arts in Business and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business. After his retirement, he worked at Emanuel Youth Detention Center in Twin City, GA. He later worked at Plant Hatch in Baxley, GA and transferred to the sister plant, Plant Vogtle of Waynesboro, GA where he was employed for his final 13 1/2 years.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife of 35 years, Tonya Ko-Kim Moorman of Swainsboro, GA; two sons, Hernandez Moorman of Swainsboro, GA and Demetrius (Bianca) Moorman of Utica, New York; one daughter, Myricka (Charles) Butler of Columbus, OH; a special daughter, Nellie Moorman of Portsmouth, VA; six grandchildren, Demetrius Moorman, Jr., Natalie Moorman, and Nyla Moorman of Portsmouth, VA. Layla Butler, Charles Butler, III, and Zaiden Butler of Columbus OH; three sisters, Tammy (Charles) Hughes of Snellville, GA, Tracy (Arthur) Culbreth of Statesboro, GA, and Christine Pullens of Hephzibah, GA; four brothers, Anthony (Tonya) Moorman of Columbus, GA, Thomas Heggs of Snellville, GA, Edward Worthen of Tampa FL; and Anthony (Darsha) of Swainsboro, GA, six aunts; Jeanette Boyd of Jacksonville, FL, Geraldine Turner of Atlanta, GA, Linda (Joe) Worthen, Wynnie King, Diane Pullen, and Phyllis Strobridge of Swainsboro, GA; two goddaughters, Ariyah Lowe and Cherrelle Blair of Swainsboro, GA and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends; two bonus brothers, Christopher Quarterman of Swainsboro, GA and Maurice Evans of Jacksonville, FL.
