Lucy Mae (Bynes) Young

Lucy Mae Young was born on September 28, 1932 to the late Porter and Beulah Bynes in Burke County, Georgia. After 90 years of life, she gained her wings and her loving spirit transitioned to be with the Lord on November 23, 2022. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a faithful member of Antioch Rock Creek Baptist Church. She graduated from high school in 1950. In 1955, Lucy was united in holy matrimony to John C. Young, Sr and from that union eight children were born. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. During her time on earth, she worked as a childcare provider and a Feed-a-Kid employee.

Lucy is preceded in death by her siblings; Mary(McKinley) Henderson, Bessie Bynes, Willie Bynes, Lynwood (Ruby) Bynes, Johnnie (Hattie) Bynes, Joseph Bynes, Sidney Bynes and Porter Bynes, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving and wonderful memories: three daughters; Dorothy Williams of Millen, Brenda Young of Atlanta, and Sandra (Benjamin) Young-Mayes of Augusta, as well as five sons, Donald Young of Millen, John Young, Jr. of Millen, Carl (Deandrea) Young of Midville, Al (Joyce) Young of Swainsboro and Christopher “Eric” (Clara) Young of Millen.

Lucy also leaves to cherish her memory a host of grandchildren; Carron Williams, Teron Williams, Ashlon Williams, Jasmine Williams, Sophila Young, Al Young Jr, Javon Young, Alonzo Young, Candice Young, Marquez Young, Jade Jenifer, Benjamin Boone Mayes III, Kennedy Mayes, Brandon Bailey, Brian Bailey, Shantell Cross, and Angela Edwards. Great grandchildren include: Samaya Tyler, Charlecia Aikins, Ashlon  Williams Jr., Destiny Willis, Kaili Williams, Isaiah Cooper, Leandre Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Marley Cuyler, Jacorryun Williams, Aidan Young, Alyanna Williams, Xzandria Young, Jada Young, Jaden Young, Quadden Young, Josiah Williams, Jamari Young, Ava Young, Kingston Crosby, Erica Young, Agera Young, Danai Young, Porter Williams, Basil Jenifer, Lennox Williams, Montrez Young,  Sawyer Williams, Ja’Niyah Cross and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition, she leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
