Mr. Lucius Williams was born in Emanuel County, Georgia, on October 7, 1950, and was called home on May 10, 2024, after a short illness. He met the Lord at an early age while worshiping at First Baptist Church of Stillmore, Georgia.
He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1968. He lived on his farm where he was born and raised until his death. He was a very hard worker and loved all his family. He was known as “Hook” and “Fish” by his family and friends. He loved to laugh and joke around and he was a passionate person. He would literally give his shirt off his back even if it was too “big”. He was employed with Calvine Print Shop, Roper, Emanuel County Institute, and the US Post Office.
Lucius was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lonzie and Mrs. Murdis Williams; two brothers, Alonzo (Pete) Williams and James (Bill) Williams; nephew, Terrel Coleman; and special brother, Thomas Campfield.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 51 1/2 years, Rose L. Jackson Williams of Stillmore, Georgia; one daughter, Moranda Williams of Swainsboro, Georgia; one son, Lucius D. Williams of Statesboro, Georgia; and one grandson, Desmond Chapple of Denton, Texas. He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Mildred Freeman of Summertown, Georgia, Julia (Thomas) Byrd, Rosie Bell Williams, Classie (Johnny) Ellison, Shirlene (Bobby) Culbreth, and Lynette Coleman, all of Stillmore, Georgia, Darlene (Charles) Young of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Barbara (Bernard) Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas; three sister-in-laws, Martha Williams of Metter, Georgia, Patricia Williams of Tampa, Florida, and Evelyn Williams of Ewing, New Jersey; one special sister-in-law, Minnie Campfield of Pompano, Florida; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
