Bro. James R. Young

James R. Young was born to the late Ellis and Nannie Young on January 31,1935 in Portal, Bulloch County, Georgia. He was educated in Emanuel County. He attended Swainsboro High and Industrial School on Gunlog Road with Professor N.F. Williams as Principal.
He joined the Williams Grove Holiness Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth. He attended until he moved to Miami, Florida in 1957. In his latter years he attended upon his return and was faithful until his transition. His favorite song is, "God Did It" and his favorite scripture is "Psalms 92."
In 1956, James married the love of his life, Lue Edna Wadley. After 9 years in this union three children were born: Vincent Timothy, Karen Victoria, and James David Young.
In October, 1961 James joined The International Association of Bridge Structural Ornamental & Reinforcing Ironworkers Local Union 272. Headquarters for the Union is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where upon retirement he became a life time member.
Another major accomplishment for Brother James was in 1970 he bought the property for his family's filter home. In 1972 they moved in their new home which was built from the ground up. He was a great provider for his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two children Vincent and Karen. He leaves to mourn his passing:. His lovely wife of 66 years Lue Edna Young. One son James David Young of Miami, Florida. Two step sons Jerry Wadley and Freddie Wadley (Maybell) all of Swainsboro, Georgia. He has a host of grandchildren and great-grand children, cousins and friends.
