James Sapp Obituary

Larry Sapp, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026 at the age of 68 in Emanuel County. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born on December 27, 1957 in Bulloch County, Larry was the son of the late Jim and Doris Sapp. He grew up in Emanuel County, where he developed a strong work ethic, a deep love for family, and the steady, dependable character that would define his life.

Larry dedicated many years to his career as a team lead for 24 years (only missing 3 days), earning the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of those he served. He took pride in hard work and was known for his integrity, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Beyond his work, Larry’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Chrisopher and James Larry Sapp, Jr. and one daughter Shalia Bulloch, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grands, and his siblings: Rev. Levi Sapp (Shirley) of Twin City, Georgia, Willie James Sapp (Janie) of Millen, GA, sisters: Ella Lane of Portal , Georgia, Mozelle Mosley of Twin City, Georgia, Bertha Brown of Wadley, Georgia, Jennie Newkirt(Virgil) of Millen, Georgia, Irene Walker (Calvin) of Metter, Georgia, Sherry Britt (Stacey) of Augusta, Georgia, and Gladys Gibbons (Lonnie) of Swainsboro, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Minthia Sapp, parents Doris and Jim Sapp, one brother Lenton Sapp, and two sisters, Margaret Deloach and Mamie Jones.

Larry enjoyed fast cars, playing cards, and checkers. Any checker or card game he would be there. He once said he would take the championship from the late Jim Sapp but never succeeded. Larry enjoyed life until the Angels called him home.  His laughter, wisdom, and steady presence will be dearly missed.

Those who knew Larry will remember him as a man of strength and kindness—a leader whose actions spoke louder than words. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the love he shared.

Larry’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
