On February 02, 2025, God called Gloria Jean Norwood from her earthly labors, away to a land free of sickness and pain. Gloria was born on March 02, 1954, to Mr. Romanis and Mrs. Bernie Dell Norwood.
Gloria was a native of Emanuel County, where she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She received her education in the Emanuel County School System and was a 1972 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She also attended Morris Draughon Business College and Swainsboro Technical College, where she received her associate degree.
Gloria was a kind-spirited person, loving and peaceful, and she will truly be missed by all that knew her. To know her was to love her. She was a loving and sweet wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved spending time with and taking care of her family. In her spare time, she loved to read romance novels, listen to her favorite tunes, and watch sports, especially football, which she was very passionate about. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her little best friend and grandson Logan, which brought her an unmeasurable amount of joy.
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother Bernie Dell Norwood, and her brother Joe Willie Norwood. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her father, Romanis Norwood; husband, James Dawson; two daughters, Kerrith Norwood and Shannon Norwood; grandson: Logan Norwood; five siblings, Dorothy McKelvin, Tommy (Doris) Norwood, Charles Norwood, Eddie (Jacquelyn) Sampson, and Jimmy (Vivian) Sampson, as well as a host of family and friends.
