Mrs. Gladys "Pearl" Watkins was born October 8, 1936, to the late Horis Johnson and the late Magnolia Johnson. She left this earthly home and took her heavenly flight on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pearl. She loved to fish and spend time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced her time with them. She was also a foster parent for many years. She touched and changed many children's lives because of her dedication.
Pearl was a faithful staff member with Mosley's Funeral Home for years. She always enjoyed attending church services and visiting with her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings. Pearl leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Jimmy Dean (Aisha) Thomas of Gulfport, MS, and Theo (Cherysse) Thomas of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Melissa Thomas of Swainsboro, GA; one god-daughter, Shenika Edmond of Twin City, GA; one brother, Henry Johnson of Miami, FL; four grandchildren, Sabrina Thomas, Javon Thomas, Jahliyah Thomas, and Valentia Thomas; a host of other relatives and friends.
