George Reese Obituary

Deacon George Reese, 72, of Garfield passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home. He was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on April 27, 1953, to the late Charlie Reese, Sr and Luartist Reese.

Deacon George was single. He was raised in Garfield, Georgia and attended Emanuel County Institute. He served in the Army and was employed by Georgia Power and retired. He became an entrepreneur and started Reese Pine Straw and Landscaping since 1987. He has left a family business legacy that is still in business. George was member of Mission Outreach Baptist Church in Statesboro under Pastor Virgil Badie where he served as Deacon. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. He never met a stranger. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the spiritual impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gwendolyn Reese; brother, James Reese (Mabel); sister, Bessie Cooper (Leroy).

Deacon Reese is survived by; Bobbie Reese; daughters, Anitatess Reese-Givens (Tommy) Swainsboro, Marie Johnson Swainsboro, Aprille Reese Garfield, India James (Rashawn) Statesboro, Daziah Kelly (James) Statesboro; sons, Levon Mincey (Tracye) Marion, Leon Mincey Marion, George Leviticus Reese Twin City, and Vannie Lee Williams Swainsboro. Grandchildren; William Givens, GwenAsia Gardner, Gzamone Gardner, Gzourney Gardner, Leontae Mincey, Rakeem Johnson, Deja Johnson, Devin Johnson, Jyrael Jackson, Damien Mincey, Danielle Mincey, Saniah Mincey, Shivonna Mincey, DaVian Mincey, Isabella Reese. Brothers Charlie Reese, Jr. (Alice) John Reese (Marol), Jerry Reese (Wanda), and Bobby Jones (Ida); Sisters Rosa Reese and Juanita McGee. A host of great grandchildren, nieces nephews, and friends.
