Edna was educated in the Emanuel County public schools and later attended Southeastern Technical College where she studied cosmetology. She later became an instructor in the same program until she retired. During her lifetime, she touched many lives and lived as a Godly missionary starting with her family. She believed in family first and taught this to all her family. She was always there to lend a helping hand.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Jessica Brown, two brothers, James C. Brown and Charles Edward Fields. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Richard A. Lawrence; three sons, Preston Brown of El Centro, California, Ronald Lawrence (Leigh) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Rick Lawrence (Vanessa) of Kenbridge, Virginia; three daughters, Melissa Broadwater (Steve) of Augusta, Georgia, Trecy Bleich (Oliver) of Lorrach, Germany, and Belinda Evon Lawrence of Warner Robins, Georgia; four sisters, Mattie Wheeler (Samual) of Pooler, Georgia, Lillian Brown (Chauncey) of Twin City, Georgia, Rose Taylor and Brenda Henry both of Swainsboro, Georgia; two brothers, Artie L. Fields (Diana) of Twin City, Georgia, and Kelvin Fields (Beverly) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grands; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special caregiver, Erica Barney
