Deborah Diane "Sue" Mills

Ms. Deborah D. Mills departed this life on Wednesday October 9, 2024 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin Georgia. She was born in Emanuel County, Georgia on September 4, 1953 to the late Mr. Cephus Barkley and Mrs. Mattie Blair Flewellyn. Debra was raised by her late grandparents Mrs. Fannie W. Singleton Mathis and Mr. Willie Mathis, whom she loved dearly. The granddaughter of the late Mr. Jack Blair, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Lou Blair of Soperton/Wrightsville Georgia. Later in life Debra married Mr. Albert Lee Mills (Shug) where two children was born before preceding her in death. Deceased uncles and aunts: Sarah W. Brown, Lucille Travet, Shirley Harris, Woodrow and Tommy Lee Spann. 

Debra was educated in Emanuel County school system. She joined Lester Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and while attending she served on the Usher Board. She enjoyed going to Gospel Quartet especially the Blair Brothers, music, shopping, Flea Markets, and jewelry collecting. Sue was known for her fashion styles and helping others.  She was a member of the Faithful Missionaries Group which visited the nursing homes during the holidays in Dublin Georgia. Debra (Sue) loved her family and friends. She always had a way of making you laugh when you least expected.

Debra was the mother of four children which her son Timothy Blair and daughter Ms. Cheryl Lanette Blair preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two sons: Mr. Kentrell (Angela) Mills of Dublin, Georgia and Mr. Dewayne (Kezia) Mills of Oklahoma. A brother Mr. Jack (Yolanda) Blair, Elmira New York. Two sisters: Ms. Kathy Barkley, Crisfield, MD and Ms. Michelle Barkley, South Carolina. Nine Grandchildren’s: LynQuez Blair, Shawntionna Lodge, Cherrelle Blair, Jaquavious White, Anaya Mack, Nyonna Mills, Malachi Mills, Quentin Dixon and Denzel Dixon. Four Great-Grandchildren she admired very much: Pasley and Riley Lodge and Tru’Amir Parks and Korbin White. Aunts: Mrs. Bernice Russell and Mary Lester of Jacksonville, Fla. Godmother Mrs. Hightower of Dublin, Georgia. Special cousins: Calvin Blair, Lillian Dunn, Frances Harden, sister Eleanor “Coot” Taylor. Special friends: Betty Scott, Debra King, Sandy Bostic, Mattie Duckworth, Geneva Salter. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
