Mr. Corey "Cadillac" Thomas was born on March 14, 1978, to Ms. Inez (Toot) Thomas of Kite, Georgia. Although Corey was primarily raised in Kite, he spent many cherished days in Swainsboro with his aunt, family, and friends. He proudly graduated with the Johnson County class of 1996.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Corey tragically left this world to find his eternal rest.
Mr. Thomas grew up with a strong foundation in the church, particularly at Claxton Grove in Kite, Georgia. He had a passion for playing football and showed remarkable resilience in the face of challenges, always knowing how to navigate through life’s obstacles with purpose. Corey embraced life to the fullest, spreading joy and love to everyone around him. He had a unique ability to connect with people, becoming a genuine friend who could bring a smile, even during the darkest times. His encouragement and support were unwavering, even when he faced his own struggles.
Mr. Thomas will be deeply missed by his family and friends, each of whom he touched in his brief time on Earth. There will never be another "Cadillac" to fill the void he has left. Throughout his various jobs, he cultivated lasting relationships with colleagues, treating them as if they were siblings.
Corey is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie James Thomas and Charlie Mae Thomas of Kite, Georgia, his uncle Jesse James Thomas, as well as his first cousins, Clay Foster and Sabrena Green.
Corey is survived by his beloved mother, Ms. Inez Thomas of Kite, Georgia; his daughter, Shacoreya Thomas of Swainsboro, Georgia; his brother, Stevie Thomas of Kite, Georgia; his aunt, Mary Ann Foster of Swainsboro, Georgia; and first cousins—Craig (Felicia) Foster, Jermaine Foster, Julius (Jasmine) Foster, Rodriggus (Tiffany) Foster, and Quantavius (Laportia) Foster Sr.—along with a host of other cousins, family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
