On Monday, July 19, 2021, our beloved, Ms. Cheryl Lanette Blair went home to be with the Lord. Cheryl was raised by her beloved late great grandparents Fannie Singleton and Willie Mathis.The granddaughter of the Late Mattie Blair and Matthew & Minnie Pearl Bright. Cheryl was a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, and a graduate of the Swainsboro High School class of 1987.
Early in life, she joined the Lester Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Choir and served on the Usher Board for many years. She was a true Swainsboro Tiger Fan and loved watching her son, "Quez" participate in football and basketball and her daughter, Cherrelle in soccer. She also admired the art work and craft that her daughter, Shawntionna created. Cheryl was well known for her special red velvet cupcakes and strawberry short cake along with other cakes and deserts. She worked at Nordson Corporation in Swainsboro, Georgia. Cheryl loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by: her grand and great grandparents; and brother Andre Moody.
Survivors include: her children, LynQuez Blair of Atlanta, GA, Shawntionna Lodge and Cherrelle Blair, both of Swainsboro, GA; parents, Matthew (Mary) Bright of Nunez, GA and Deborah Mills of Dublin GA; one granddaughter Paisley Lodge; brothers, Kentrell (Angela) Mills of Dublin, GA, Ricardo Mills of Kansas City, MS, Matthew Bright, III of Stockbridge, GA, and Matthew Coleman of Augusta GA; sisters, Crystal Cato of Illinois, Monica (Will) Bright-Hill and Joelle Phillips, both of Philadelphia, PA, Mattilyn (Frank) Ward of Augusta, GA, Angelica Bright of Dublin, GA, LaKesha (DJ) Barthell and LaShaunda (Dana) King, both of Atlanta, GA, and Mary Ross of Grovetown, GA; aunties, Leola Williams of Swainsboro, GA and Barbara Coleman of Atlanta, GA; one uncle, Jack (Yolanda) Blair of Elmira, NY; a special cousin, Kimberly Brown Jones; cousin aunties, Mary Lois, Glenice, Marion, Katherine, and Eleanor; special friends, Kim Moorman, Kim Dixon, and Barbara McGee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
