Carolyn "Jewel" (Allen) Dekle

    On October 23, 2022, Mrs. Carolyn “Jewel” Allen Dekle, 68, passed away after an extended illness. Mrs. Dekle was born in Swainsboro, Georgia, to Roy Frank Allen and Beatrice Brown Allen, whom preceded her in death.

     Mrs. Dekle was a caregiver for over 40 years. She was employed by United Hospice of Swainsboro for over 13 years. She was a private sitter for many years after she retired from the workforce. She had a passion for helping those in need. She was a member of St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Dekle; brothers, Johnny Lee Allen, Solomon Allen, Charles Edward Allen, and Leroy Allen; and her parents.

     She leaves to mourn her passing: daughter, Melissa Dekle of Swainsboro, Georgia; 2 sons, Michael LaShawn (Santria) Dekle of Statesboro, Georgia, and Willie Bernard Dekle of Summertown, Georgia; 5 granddaughters, Marissa Dekle, LeAnn Fleming, Mikaela Dekle, Malayah Dekle, and Jurni Dekle; 4 grandsons, Maurice (Demarris) Strong, Raekwon Dekle, Tevin Lloyd, and Tyson Zeigler; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
