Bishop George Lee, Jr. Obituary

Bishop George Lee, Jr., was born October 9, 1939, in Burke County, Georgia, to the late Mr George Lee Sr. and Mrs Bertha Lee Griffin. Bishop Lee married at an early age to Maize Lee Ferguson. Bishop Lee is affectionately known as “Gacky," “Dad," “Pop," “Tell it like it is Bishop Lee,” “Bro Lee”, “Grand daddy,” and “Uncle”.

Some of his favorite sayings were “Don’t let nobody burn up your juice," “Click off,” and “Just Let people live their own lives”. To meet him is to like him. To know him is to love him. Bishop Lee attended and graduated high school at an early age. He further attended and completed college courses at Broward Community College, in Hollywood Florida in his early years.

Bishop Lee was remembered as a firm and compassionate leader, Counselor, supervisor, and Spiritual mentor to hundreds of employees and patients for over 20 years at South Florida State Hospital.

Bishop Lee was led by God in the ministry at The First Church of Christ at the early age of 17 in which He fought the good fight of faith with God’s help to serve in this capacity at the First Church of Christ until God called him home at the age of 84 years old.

As a hobby, Bishop Lee loved to pray and read God’s word. He also enjoyed playing Pac man on his table size machine. He loved his Family! Especially His Family in Christ. God gave him the ability to teach in ways that left all those who was fortunate enough to have known him with many lessons learned. He was well known within his community, and He helped many people. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Bishop Lee was proceeded in death by his parents; Mr. George Lee Sr. and Mrs. Bertha "Griffin" Lee. ✝️ A spouse Mable Bell Lee. ✝ 3 sisters; Jeanether, Mary, and Betsy✝️ 4 beloved children; George Lee, III, Cassandra Blackshear, Sandra Bell, and Fred Bell, Jr., ✝️3 grandchildren Melissa, Kenneth, and Charnele. ✝️

He is survived by his loving Wife, Rosy Lee. His cherished Children 8 girls and 3 boys.

Regina Lee, Tracy Youngblood (Marion), Debra (baby girl) King (Dewight), Donna Allen (David), Shirley Tisdale (Amos), Andra Hilbert, Lisa Hilbert, and Phyllis Wells. Ernest Bell (Renae), Michael Bell, and John Holloway (Emma).

25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
